Tasmanian Firefighters are the lowest paid Firefighters in Australia and this gap gets wider when you factor in allowances and other payments.
The Firefighting Industrial Agreement expired on 30 June 2021 and Firefighters have not been able to reach agreement with the government. The government has made 5 written offers, which would see our Firefighters fall further behind compared to other states.
Tasmanian Firefighters want to be paid fairly for the work they do and want adequate superannuation to allow them to retire comfortably when they are no longer able to fight fires.
